1950’s Horrockses Green and Black Cotton Dress

A wonderful example of Horrockses designs of the 1950’s. This dress is a sea green cotton with a black floral design and a slight sheen to the fabric, the colours are vibrant and in great condition. The buttons are in black and could be moved to make the waist larger if required. The measurements are taken as the dress is and they are as follows –
Chest 38 inches (97 cms) the style of the bust is pleated and therefore has room to expand.
Waist 26 inches (67 cms) as stated this could be made larger and probably was larger originally.
Nape to Waist 17 inches (44 cms)

Wow what a find!
This original amazing cotton dress is made by Carnegie in wonderful condition. The dress has self covered buttons all down the front, six in fact on a white placket, with two patch pockets trimmed in white cotton also featuring a self made button on each. The dress has a long original metal zip at the back and loops for your own belt. There is a muslin lining from the waist in white and my mannequin is wearing a very full tulle petticoat in vanilla underneath which can be purchased separately, although the dress is beautiful without the fullness of the petticoat. The dress comes freshly laundered and was carried out on a cold wash. The colours are very vibrant too.

1950s Blue and Black Brocade Ballerina Length Prom Dress
A beautiful original 1950s ballerina length dress with pleated chest and shawl collar. The dress has an original long nickel zip and is unlined – probably silk. I have displayed this dress with a full black tulle petticoat underneath which is not included in the sale but can be purchased separately if you contact me.

1950s Cotton Daffodil Print Ballgown Size 10 UK
An amazing original full circle cotton ballgown with a vibrant daffodil print. This dress has been made by a seamstress and there has been a V shaped panel inserted at the zip expertly carried out which if removed could make the dress smaller. There is a drawstring lace on the bodice and the bodice is boned.
